Description
One of the most beautiful summer-flowering shrubs in our gardens, the deep green foliage of the Diamond Dazzle Dwarf Crape Myrtle becomes literally smothered with pristine, bright white flower clusters in summer. Truly a sight to behold. Another fine attribute is the handsome burgundy-red fall foliage. Grows 3 to 4 feet tall and wide.
Developed by the Michael Dirr Breeding Program at the University of Georgia.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a rounded mound 3 to 4 feet tall and wide, the Diamond Dazzle Crape Myrtle is an ideal selection for an accent or specimen in smaller garden spaces or as a stand alone in containers, which can conveniently be brought indoors for overwintering by those of you who garden north of USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 6a. In larger landscape spaces Diamond Dazzle is outstanding in small to large groupings or as a colorful hedge. A fine addition to white theme gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart for solid hedges, 6 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this Crape Myrtle variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Dazzle Dwarf Crape Myrtles are exceptionally easy to grow and maintain when planted right and in the right spot. They’re not too picky about soil type however prefer a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and as much sun as you can give them. Light shade is tolerated but flowering is diminished with more shade. Maintenance is minimal, with very little if any pruning required for plants to maintain density and a nice form. That said, spent flowers can be removed to encourage a possible second flush of flowers. A light pruning before leaves emerge in early spring can help to maintain a more dense shrub. When established, plants are quite drought tolerant; only requiring supplemental water during prolonged dry periods during summer. As with all other crape myrtle, deer won’t touch the Dazzles.

I order two crepe myrtles, they were packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box with vent holes, secured in the box with cardboard reinforcement and large printing on the outside of the box directing which side should be up. They were in beautiful shape when they arrived and were ready for immediate planting, which I did. Will be ordering more plants, a pleased customer!—————————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! The plant arrived well packaged and in beautiful condition. The plant is not the typical Crape Myrtle and is compact. This is perfect for the space and we have had so many people ask what it is. We are in a new community and there are a lot of deer. This is deer resistant and so far they have not sowed down on the bush.—————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! The 3 crape myrtles were well packaged, good root system and damp soil when delivered. I ordered three, 3-gallon plants and one was shipped as a 2-gallon.
I sent photo with email and my account was credited for the smaller size.
