Description
The Rise Up Series of roses can be grown as a “mini climber” or as a shrub, whichever you prefer. Thanks to the breeding efforts of Chris Warner in the UK, these vigorous, disease resistant, reblooming roses keep a neat and dense habit with a range of uses in the landscape or garden. The Rise Up Ringo features double, bright golden-yellow blooms with a contrasting bright red eye stand out nice against the healthy, dark green foliage. The self-cleaning flowers appear all summer without the need for deadheading. At only 2 to 3 feet wide and 3 to 5 feet tall, Rise Up Ringo is a perfect fit for small garden spaces or to grow on short fences, trellises and posts.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 4 to 5 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide, depending on your preference, the Rise Up Ringo Rose is ideal for use as a shrub or climbing rose. As a shrub, she is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as a colorful hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders and home foundation plantings. As a climber, she is perfect for training to grow up short fences and rails, trellises, or a mailbox post. This rose is so reliable and attractive throughout the season we have no problem suggesting it for use in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, cottage gardens and gold or yellow theme gardens.
Growing Preferences
The Rise Up Ringo Rose is easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, to avoid powdery mildew on the leaves, morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves. Afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest a minimum of 6 hours of direct sun light for best flowering.
Maintenance is minimal. Rise Up Ringo Rose does not require pruning, however can benefit from it for training purposes. To keep her full and bushy from year to year prune the branches back to about 15-18 inches above the ground in late winter or early spring. After this hard pruning, she will quickly flush out new growth and start blooming with the arrival of warmer temperatures. As a climber there is no need for pruning. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage more new buds and blooms.
